Contract Proofing at Idea Digital Imaging Print E-mail

A Contract Proof is a simulation of the final printed job that conforms to recognised standards and can be independently verified for accuracy.

Each Contract Proof produced by Idea Digital Imaging has the Ugra/FOGRA Media Wedge:

The Ugra/FOGRA Media Wedge consists of 46 colour patches which can be measured using a spectrophotometer and then analysed to ensure that they match the expected colours within ISO specified tolerance limits:

Proofs which meet the FOGRA standard have an approval label applied to them which provides DeltaE values for CMYK, paper white and average/maximum values for the wedge:

The Ugra/FOGRA Media Wedge and the approval sticker provide a guarantee that the proof is colour accurate and has been produced to ISO standards.

The Delta E values are measurements of colour difference between the ISO Standard Lab colour values and the measured values on the proof. A Delta E value of 3 indicates a colour difference that is barely perceptible by a person with good colour vision in a brightly lit room. The approval sticker indicates that this proof had average Delta E values that were 1.20 and that the most inaccurate patch had a Delta E of 2.85.
