Contract Proofing at Idea Digital Imaging |

A Contract Proof is a simulation of the final printed job that conforms to recognised standards and can be independently verified for accuracy. Each Contract Proof produced by Idea Digital Imaging has the Ugra/FOGRA Media Wedge:
The Ugra/FOGRA Media Wedge consists of 46 colour patches which can be measured using a spectrophotometer and then analysed to ensure that they match the expected colours within ISO specified tolerance limits:
Proofs which meet the FOGRA standard have an approval label applied to them which provides DeltaE values for CMYK, paper white and average/maximum values for the wedge:
The Ugra/FOGRA Media Wedge and the approval sticker provide a guarantee that the proof is colour accurate and has been produced to ISO standards. The Delta E values are measurements of colour difference between the ISO Standard Lab colour values and the measured values on the proof. A Delta E value of 3 indicates a colour difference that is barely perceptible by a person with good colour vision in a brightly lit room. The approval sticker indicates that this proof had average Delta E values that were 1.20 and that the most inaccurate patch had a Delta E of 2.85. |

There are better ways than sending files to the printer and keeping your fingers crossed.A colour accurate, digital Contract Proof from Idea Digital Imaging Ltd for instance. Our Contract Proofing service can show you how your work will print on all common press types so that you can sign the job off with 100% confidence before committing it to print. That confidence extends to demanding the best from your printer too.Every Contract Proof has a set of colour patches which are individually measured for accuracy before they are approved for delivery. We attach a sticker showing the measured values to each Contract Proof so that anybody further down the production chain can see how accurate it is and/or verify its accuracy by measuring the colour patches themselves. Providing Contract Proofs that can be independently verified for accuracy means that the printer can be confident of matching the proof and confident that you are somebody who demands the best from their suppliers. Ultimately, failure to match the Contract Proof means that the printer is failing to achieve recognised industry standards and therefore failing to deliver the job that you are paying for. No professional business would risk being put in this position so choosing to supply Contract Proofs ensures that you get professional results without having to explicitly demand them. |
